For some reason, sometimes someone walks away from my processor and appears100% CPU usage but number one only shows the program using the most CPU7% or less. Where did those 93% go? This car is driving me crazy. I’m fineRestart your machine to get it back to normal. I have a fedora and I triedKubuntu Although Kubuntu seemed to be more stable, this tool did appear. playaround with growing max_cstate to no avail. I just dropped to386 to the bone, let’s see if it’s possible. However, this is not the best solution.Do you have any suggestions? Questions on the forums and on IRCchains without success. Thanks.Jim

If you look at /proc/cpuinfo you are very happy to hear that you have P4 hyperthreading.included, right? If so, then 7% of the maximum CPU usage is actually just one core.Or the total load on all cores?

Why is Linux CPU usage so high?

Common causes of high CPU usage Resource Challenge – All system resources such as RAM, Disk, Apache, etc. can cause high CPU usage. System configuration. Some default settings or other useful configuration errors may cause usability issues. Errors in the code. A product error may cause a memory leak, etc.

My simple advice for now is: download the latest checked kernel.download from kernel.org and compile it yourself. There is an attempt to meet one(unknown?) kernel scheduler virus. Or it could be expiration date managementproblem (is it a mobile processor?).

Since I don’t know much about this area, I will try to play the gameParameters when configuring the kernel, such as ACPI, APIC apm, support, and others.soon.
