How do I fix the paging file is too small?

jojesa said this: Delete the swap file by clicking the “No swap file” radio button in the software and clicking “Install” and then clicking “OK”. Anew. After the reboot, return to the default Windows environment page file in the advanced settings of the Windows system.

  • How do I fix not enough virtual memory?

Right-click My Computer, then click Properties. In the System Properties dialog box, click Advanced.Click Performance Options. In the “Virtual Memory” section, just click “Change” to increase the swap operator. After changing the setting, click Install, then click OK.

Dell Dimension 4400, XP Home SP2, I keep getting this message when I log in:

Your system does not display the swap file, or the swap file is too small. To fix this problem, go to System in the Control Panel, click Deny Advanced, and under Performance, click Settings. On the Advanced tab, click Edit, select a custom size, and enter the initial and maximum swap file sizes.

I make it valuable and it always shows 0 initial pages. I am logged in as an administrator. What am I doing wrong? I have set the initial and maximum swap file size. Initially install more than you need. 2000.

  • Why not change the install time so that XP can handle the swap file?

    Louis

Creating daily partition/disk backups… with third party software… is perhaps the most important exercise a user can enjoy.

  • First, let me thank everyone for or maybe suggestions. I tried to let the system choose. the same results. It must be so simple that I can’t see the trees in the forest!! Could this be a problem because Dell doesn’t like the (clean) install of XP Home SP2?

The Chewy (love your hair) option is not easy to use at 50%.

No time: 03:54. Do not try. Do it… or rather, do it. No try.

HowWhat programs are you sure you have installed that can crash Windows XP?

or is there less available evidence of this if you use a very badly burnt copy or corrupt some OS CDs?

  • After someone has made changes to the chat window shown in the final message above, you need to click the “Set Control” button and then “Apply”. OK. You will definitely get the message “Restart now?” Possibility. Reboot for the changes to take effect.

  • I just upgraded to IE7 this morning and got the exact same swap file message after restarting. (Dell Vostro 200 with XP) I tried resizing so the system can handle most of the suggestions here, but it still doesn’t work. Abandoned, uninstalled IE7, rebooted IE6 and was ready to restore the system, but rebooted after almost everything was back to normal.
