The Easiest Way To Change TCP/IP Settings In Windows 8

In some cases, your computer may give an error saying that TCP/IP settings will be changed in Windows 8. There can be several reasons for this error.

NOTE. This document contains the areas (listed below).

  • DHCP Configuration (Automatic IP Address)
  • Static IP Configuration
  • Configure DHCP (Automatic IP Address)

    By default, Windows 5 is configured as a DHCP client. Assume that Windows 8 is configured with a static (manually configured) home IP address, and if the computer should automatically respond toIP address, Windows 8 needs to be reconfigured as a DHCP client.

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard to exit desktop mode.
    2. Move the mouse pointer to the lower right corner of any screen. The right pane appears.

    3. Click on this settings icon. From now on, you will see the settings panel.

    4. In the Settings area, click the Control Panel link. The control window will no doubt now appear.

    5. Click the Network and Internet link in each Control Panel window. The Network and Internet window appears.

    6. In the Network and Internet window, click the Network and Sharing Center link. The Network and Sharing Center window appears.

    7. In the Network and Sharing Center window, click the Connect Locally link. The Local Connection Area Status window appears.

    8. Click the Properties button.

    9. In the local login window:
      a. Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Make sure the box on the left is checked.
      b. Click Properties.

    10. In the window with Internet protocol version property for (TCP/IPv4):
      a. Select Obtain an automatic IP address.
      b. Select Obtain an automatic DNS host address.
      c. Press the OK button. This brings us back to the Local Area Connection Properties window for help.

    11. Click the Close button in the Local Area Connection Properties pane.

    Static IP Configuration

    The following instructions show how to manually set the following options:

  • IP address
  • Subnet mask
  • Default gateway
  • Preferred DNS Server/Address
  • Alternate DNS
    1. Press the Windows key associated with your keyboard to switch to desktop mode.
    2. Hover over most of the bottom right corner of your screen. The right pane appears.

    3. Click on our settings icon. This time you will see the settings panel.

    4. In the section settings, just click on the “Control Panel” link. The Control Any Panel window appears.

    5. In the new Control Panel window, click the C linkAnd the Internet. The Network, Internet and window will appear.

    6. In the Network and Internet window, click the Network and Sharing Center link. The Network and Sharing Center is now displayed.

    7. In the Network and Sharing Center window, click the Local Connection object link. The Local Connection Area Status window appears.

    8. Click the Properties button in the Local Connection section of the status window.

    9. In the Port Local Area Properties window:
      a.Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Make sure this box on the left is checked.
      b. Click Properties.

    10. In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window:
      a. Select Use the following IP address.
      b. For the address, enter ip an IP point outside the dialer.
      c. For the subnet mask, enter the subnet mask of your choice.
      d. Enter the default portal you selected as the default gateway.

      NOTE. If the correct bypass gateway is not specified in this setting, the computer will not be able to automatically connect to theternet. In addition, this computer is difficult to access when remote access to the real computer is required.

      e. Select the address Obtain a DNS server automatically.
      f. For the preferred DNS server, enter the address of each primary DNS server. If there is currently only one DNS server address, enter that address here.
      For example. For Alternate DNS Server, enter the address of most secondary DNS servers. If you do not have an additional DNS server, leave this setting blank.

    11. Click the OK buttons. This brings us back to the LAN connection properties area, if you will.

    12. Click the OK button at the bottom of the LAN connection properties pane.

    By default, Windows 8 is configured as a DHCP client. However, if an inaccurate IP address has been configured in Windows 5 (manually configured) and the computer should also obtain an IP address automatically,Windows 8 will need to be reconfigured as a website visitor using DHCP.< /p>

    1. Press the Windows key on your laptop to switch to desktop mode.
    2. Move your current mouse pointer to the bottom cabinet on the right side of the screen. The right fire will now appear.

    8. Click the Properties button.
